Join P-H-M’s Food Service Department
Food Service employees make valuable contributions to students’ success by helping to keep students healthy, happy and well nourished which in turn “fuels” them for success in the classroom. Watch the video below to learn more about the joys of working in P-H-M Food Service.
You can show your love in the food that you make. And when we're able to show our love into the food and serve that to the children, that's just an extra layer of love they can feel from us. Why do I love working in food service? Well, the kids. Interacting with the kids. It is so cool.
00:00:28
I just like the environment and the nice people and I get to serve the community. We have a great group. We all chip in and help each other and that's what it's all about. I have them even actually come back and ask how I made stuff and that they really like it and that makes me feel good that they like my cooking.
00:00:52
When the kids come through and they make healthy choices all on their own without us having to say, well, you've got to get this or get this. And especially now that we're doing the program where all kids eat free right now, I know a lot of kids don't necessarily have everything that they need at home, so it makes me happy to know that we're giving them nutritional food and that they're getting it without having to worry about coming up with costs or anything like that.
00:01:16
Sometimes we have special education kids. They're really good kids. They do whatever we ask them and we love having them. They're always with a smiley face. It is very emotional when it becomes the end of the year because you see where they have come in in the beginning of the year and they're timid or they don't know themselves yet and then by the time they're fifth graders or fourth graders they're conquering the world.
00:01:42
I like working with the kids because they're very interesting and they bring a lot of joy when you can see that they're happy and they're having a good time. I love the group I work with. They are wonderful women. We're all kind of from different backgrounds, different age groups. I love the regular kids that come in and come directly to you. That definitely warms the heart. I'm thankful for...
00:02:06
Just the opportunity to help mold these children's futures and play a part of it. So I'm just thankful for a lot.
As of January 1, 2026:

After a satisfactory 90 day evaluation they will move to Step 1 and move through the remaining steps one per year on their probationary anniversary date with a satisfactory evaluation.
