Transportation Safety

P-H-M school buses transport this community’s most precious cargo–children! Drivers should ALWAYS be mindful when school buses are on the road.

DON’T BE THIS PERSON …

00:00:35
Oh, Jesus Christ! Good morning! Go ahead. Do you know if there is a key road?

Bus video from March 18, 2025 on Ash Road, 7:42 a.m.

P-H-M has rear and front facing Stop Arm Cameras installed on all of our buses that allow for full video and audio recordings of bus routes. We also have forward facing cameras in our bus windshields.

If a car does pass a bus while the stop arms are extended, you will be caught! Our cameras record the footage and it will be sent to St. Joseph County Police Department and the local prosecutor.

STOP or pay the PRICE! Penalties include:

  • Up to one year in jail
  • Fines up to $5,000
  • 90 day license suspension or up to 1 year for repeat offenses
  • 8 points on driver’s license

We do not individuals to get in trouble. Ultimately, what we want is for drivers to to drive safely!

See the video below as a reminder of when to stop for buses.

When in doubt STOP!

It’s also important for students to be aware of their surroundings and follow school bus safety rules; this will help keep them safe.

We invite our families to watch the video below with their children to remind them of school bus safety rules. We want to keep all our students safe throughout the school year!
