Three summer sessions of Red Cross swim instruction at Penn High School for children age 4 and older who are toilet trained.

Summer Sessions

Choose from three sessions offered during summer 2026.

Session I
June 15 to June 26
No classes June 29 to July 3
Session II
July 6 to July 17
10 classes total
Session III
July 20 to July 31
10 classes total

Program Information

  • Classes are held at Penn High School.
  • Children must be at least four years old and toilet trained.
  • Each session includes 10 classes, with each class lasting 30 minutes.
  • Classes during each session run daily, Monday through Friday.
  • Each child will be tested on the first day and placed in a Red Cross swim level.
  • To receive certification at the end of the session, children must attend testing on the first day.

The following class times are offered for each session:

8:00 a.m.
8:40 a.m.
9:20 a.m.
10:00 a.m.
12:30 p.m.
1:10 p.m.
1:50 p.m.
2:30 p.m.

Registration Information

  2. Registration opens

    Monday, April 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.

  3. Birth certificate requirement for 4-year-olds

    Parents of four-year-old children must provide a birth certificate at the time of registration. On the day you register, email a copy of the birth certificate to jforkner@phm.k12.in.us.

    If the birth certificate is not received, the registration will be canceled and a refund will be mailed.

Important: A child must be four years old by the date of the session you are enrolling them in. No exceptions.

Policies

  • Class size is limited.
  • Time slots are filled on a first come, first served basis.
  • If you cancel, refunds are issued minus a $10 processing fee for each registration.
  • Cancellations must be received at least seven business days before the start of the session.
  • A $5 processing fee is charged for all transfers.
  • Transfer fees must be paid in cash or by check at the Community Education office.
  • Transfer fees cannot be charged to a credit or debit card.
