 Become an Educational Assistant

Educational Assistants are needed throughout the Corporation at every level: elementary, middle and high school levels. As of January 1, 2025, E.A.s start out at $17.76 per hour, and after a 90 day review have the ability to move to $18.34.  

P-H-M EA’s receive paid holidays and receive a yearly step increase on the date of their 90 day review.

Become a Teacher’s Assistant

Teachers Assistants are valuable partners on a students’ educational team partnering with the classroom teacher to provide extra assistance to students. 

As of January 1, 2025, T.A.s starting hourly rate is $16.60 per hour, and after a 90 day review have the ability to move to $17.07.

Kids Club Childcare Assistants

Love working with children and want some flexibility? Check out becoming a Kids Club Childcare Assistant. The program is offered before school, operating from 6:30 a.m. until the start of classes, and again after school, operating from the time of school dismissal until 6:00 p.m. Aside from an hourly rate starting at $15.05, these are some of the other benefits Kids Club employees enjoy:

  • Kids Club employees elementary school aged children can attend Kids Club at no cost
  • Eight paid Holidays
  • Earn one Sick Day a month
  • Two personal Business days per school year
  • Option to work school breaks (spring, summer, fall & winter)
  • Years of Service Bonus starting at year five

Custodians

Custodians make great contributions to providing safe and nurturing learning environments for our students. When students feel emotionally, psychologically and physically safe, their academic performance is greatly enhanced. 

As of January 1, 2025 these are the hourly rates:
  • Custodian I (Mainly cleaning duties) – $19.19
  • Custodian II (Most daytime custodians that also do some minor maintenance work) – $21.86

Food Service 2025 rates

The above rates are effective as of January 1, 2025. All new hires will start at the Probationary Step. After a satisfactory 90 day evaluation they will move to Step 1 and move through the remaining steps one per year on their probationary anniversary date with a satisfactory evaluation. 

The Penn-Harris-Madison Food Service Department is taking applications and interviewing for positions at several locations presently.  Additional openings at other locations may be expected in the course of the school year, so getting your application on file now is encouraged.
