PROVISIONS FOR EVACUATION
When a student with a disability is in a classroom, the teacher in charge needs to make appropriate pre-arranged plans to assist the student with evacuation to the designated safe area. The amount of assistance provided should correspond with the severity of the disability. Assistance could mean a “buddy” student would be assigned to provide assistance. Should “special assistance” be required, the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) should specify the kinds of assistance the student will require during any school disaster
