Safe & Healthy Learning Environment

The safety of our students, teachers and staff are always our top priority. Since March 2020, Penn-Harris-Madison has closely monitored and worked with local, state, and national health leaders to keep our our Health and Safety COVID Plan up-to-date following the latest guidance of health experts. It is our priority to have in-person instruction and to stay in-person.

P-H-M regularly reviews our Safe & Healthy Learning Environment Plan to ensure it is up-to-date with the latest local, state and national COVID precaution guidelines; click here to read it.

Statistics on local COVID cases are tracked by the St. Joseph County Health Department. The County’s current COVID metrics can be viewed here. P-H-M is no longer tracking district cases via a public dashboard. Staff and families should now utilize the St. Joseph County Health Department’s COVID Data hub for up-to-date information.

Please click here for a description of how P-H-M used ESSER III funds to help address learning loss and student mental health. COVID mitigation strategies, including PPE, ventilation and other facility upgrades, as well as many of the items listed above, were paid for out of the district’s existing Operation Fund.
